How Octavia Spencer Lost Her Weight
What Octavia Spencer used for her magical weight loss
For movie fanatics out there, you probably remember Octavia Spencer in her award winning performance in The Help. Well not only is this forty six year old an incredible actress but she is a beauty as well thanks to her magical weight loss.
Since her starring The Help, this American actress, producer and author has also had roles in a number of projects including Insurgent and Instant Fam as well as having her voice in the animation Zootopia.
Having been impressive in the screens and winning an academy award for her role The Help, the American actress has recently turned heads by losing a whooping 2st 2lb and she looks amazing. Her incredible weight loss transformation has had people discussing in the corridors and whispering to each other how exactly she was able to pull it off.
Good thing the actress is not secretive about how she managed to lose all that weight and is willing to share. She has recently opened up to her social media followers about the diet that she used to slim down and have jaws dropping at her divaness for lack of a better word and pardon the English.
The magical weight loss has made the actress so confident that now she is able to show off her arms. She recently told her followers that she never really shows off her arms but would do so as a one off to show her tremendous transformation.
You might be thinking that that is little progress but believe me, any progress in the journey of weight loss is something to be proud of. If you are on the journey and see the difference in an old dress or loose fitting pants that used to be tight, it's worth shouting to the whole word and this is what Octavia chose to do. She chose to celebrate her magical weight loss with her fans on Instagram and even showed some arm proof.
The actress showed off her arms while on a lunch break in her trailer and I can only imagine the excitement that she was going through to warrant her running to Instagram at that time. In her post she continues to say that despite working out all the time, the cellulite in her arms had been there for several years and has not budged until recently. Now you can imagine the excitement of not showing off your arms for many years and then suddenly being able to do so. It is quite something isn't it?
In her post she goes on to tell her followers of the changes that she has made including perform inspired supplements, balanced nutrition and the right work outs. She also goes on to invite her followers to share their success stories irrespective of how small they are.

Body Building Diets Are Not Just About Taking Smaller Quantity of Calories
Starting a body building program with solid foundation is imperative for you, in order to experience the results associated with the program. As a result, you can include diet and nutrition.
Making dietary mistakes will surely have a negative impact on your accomplishment in the gym, which will not let you meet the goals of the program once you fail to consider good diet and nutrition. That is why it is important to master and understand the importance of developing healthy and nourishing food that fits your specific needs and metabolism.
Before You Start
Considering your body building objectives and your present situation is the first thing you must do before you map out your nutritional requirements. This doesn't need focusing your meals, particularly if you are a proletarian person that builds his body.
Furthermore, considering your lifestyle is essential because time restrictions can have a great impact on the way you want to accomplish your nutritional needs.
The Basics of Healthy and Nourishing Diet
Determining calories needed to achieve your desired objectives is one vital step to your diet budding. For example, if you desire to gain weight, you are expected to ingest a minimum of 250 to 500 extra calories above your maintenance level.
Your maintenance level is simply the calorie quantity at which you neither lose nor increase in weight. But if you want to lose weight, you will have to reduce intake by 250 - 500 calories. Then, you will want to share the sum on 5 - 7 meals for the whole day, once you establish quantity of calories you ought to be taking.
Diets Needed
Eating lean proteins, low glycemic carbohydrates, and healthy fats is a must for your body building. Examples of healthy diets include one tablespoon of olive oil, fresh broccoli, brown rice as well as lean chicken breast.
General Food Mythology
As a beginner to body building, you may think that you must avoid fats and carbohydrates. Actually, they are important to your accomplishment because carbohydrates help when it comes to fueling the development of the muscle due to restocking glycogen stores used up during workouts.
You must get it clear that your body would not have the power to build back your muscles if it lacks carbohydrates. Similarly, healthy fats are essential since they boost energy, metabolism, and maintain the levels of hormone.
Why Healthy and Nourishing Diet?
There are many benefits of sticking to firm foods for when it comes to building your body. For instance, you will experience fewer cravings, which will make your body fat level drop, which will in turn help you reduce the risk of many deadly conditions such as cancer, diabetes, and heart disease among others.
Conclusion
Eating equal amount quantity of calories you burn and maintaining your weight is crucial to the success of your body building program. Nonetheless, eat more calories than you burn to add weight. Similarly, eat lesser calories than you burn for weight loss.
You must be familiar with the amount of calories you take per day, while having a menu for each day is a perfect idea. This is where you count all the numbers like fats, carbs, protein and calories. Documenting all will make you have a wide range of guidelines and plans.

NAD For Weight Loss
Our body is a magical mystery maze of chemical reactions governed by dictations from our DNA and yes - the daily choices we make.
We all understand our food choices and exercise impact our body fat levels, but we also need to understand more about our inner chemistry. As we have all learned the hard way - fat loss is NOT as simple as calories in and calories out!
By focusing on manipulating the edicts from our DNA - we can influence our chemistry to work with us, in our fat loss endeavors - not against us.
Our Goal: Taking the mayhem and cacophony that happens with daily living - and orchestrating our chemistry into a beautiful symphony.
We have all felt there are saboteurs lurking to spoil our fat loss efforts - it is true.
Here, we are going to talk about a big one - losing NAD.
Bottom line: NAD allows sugars, fats, and proteins to be converted into energy
Research on NAD for fat loss centers around the various building blocks of NAD, most importantly vitamin B3. Milk is a good source of B3. Don't just go and pop B3 supplements - there are various forms of B3. B3 in larger doses can cause side effects, even though it is a water soluble vitamin, and too much of the wrong form of B3 can be counter productive in the efforts to boost NAD.
NAD ( = nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is in every cell of the body and an absolute necessity for mitochondrial function - those power houses, or energy producers in our cells.
NAD decreases with age, but researchers agree NAD is #1 in the anti-aging process - as it dictates to turn off those genes that contribute to the aging process.
How do we lose NAD?
- Aging... a normal process of aging, is the dissipation of NAD - unless we step in a consciously set out to raise our NAD levels.
- Alcohol - also a major culprit in every aspect of aging ( no the resveratrol in red wine is minimal, and we cannot rationalize more wine to get more resveratrol)
- DNA alterations from lifestyle, medications... again unless we step in and consciously protect our DNA
- Lack of exercise - sedentary lifestyle - sitting is the new smoking
- Certain foods can decrease our levels over time - but certain foods can help increase our levels.
Sirtuins
Sirtuins (AKA longevity genes) are a group of 7 proteins that play a role in aging by regulating cellular health. Sirtuins must have a good supply of NAD. Sirtuins control DNA expression and aging, manage all things cellular... alas... if NAD levels are declining... so is cellular efficiency & productivity.
Fasting - often used as an effective tool in fat loss - maybe this is one of the reasons why: Fasting has been shown to increase NAD - which activates Sirtuins.
There is great hope in sirtuins research with cancer, metabolic issues, glucose metabolism, HIV & neurodegenerative disorders.
Clinically healthy yet obese people have shown to have lower NAD/Sirtuin levels in studies. Calorie restriction has shown to increase these levels, and to decrease oxidative stress (look at my many article on OS).
The Sirtfood Diet
Yes - there is a Sirtfood diet. It is also affectionately referred to as "hacking the skinny gene diet".
Sorry - I am not voting for it, as good as it sounds in theory.
The sirtfood diet combines calorie restriction and "Sirtfoods". I have no problem with the SIrtfoods (except for the red wine) because they are great foods for us to eat for many reasons: walnuts, olive oil, blueberries, coffee, turmeric...
Why do I put huge faith in the Sirtfood diet?
To eat enough of these foods to activate Sirtuin activity, well that would not at all be consistent with the calorie restriction aspect of the diet.
I am a big supporter of intermittent fasting for most people - if their physician agrees the person is a candidate for intermittent fasting. However a few things to keep in mind about calorie restriction, which is NOT intermittent fasting.
- When your body is calorie restricted, it uses up its emergency energy stores, or glycogen, also burning fat and muscle... never good to sacrifice muscle - the definition of biting your nose to spite your face!
- Glycogen usage releases the water it used for storage. This is "water weight."
- In the first week of extreme calorie restriction, only about one-third of the weight loss comes from fat, while the rest comes from water, muscle and glycogen,
- As soon as your calorie intake increases, your body replenishes its glycogen stores, and the weight comes right back. How miserable and de-motivating.
- body will often lower it's metabolic rate, which nobody wants- making it easier to gain weight in the future.
Yes. - we need to support our NAD production. NAD is a necessity for life. IV NAD infusions have been successfully used for a number of years now by athletes to increase performance & recovery naturally, people for anti aging, opioid & alcohol addictions, depression & anxiety, energy, PTSD, chronic fatigue, DNA repair and neurodegenerative disorders. Finding more ways to increase NAD and lower oxidative stress - are the true keys to living a proactive, healthy lifestyle.

The Keto Diet and Weight Loss
If you have had a desire to shed some extra pounds, then perhaps you could have come across ketogenic diet, which is popularly known as Keto diet. It is a popular weight loss plan that promises significant weight loss in a short time.
But far from what most people believe it to be, the diet is not a magical tool for weight loss. Just like any other diet, it takes time, requires a lot of adjustment and tracking to see results.
What is the Keto diet?
The keto diet is aimed at putting your body in Ketosis. This diet plan is usually low carb with high intake of healthy fats, vegetables and sufficient proteins. In the this diet, there is also an emphasis on avoiding highly processed foods and sugars.
There are several types of Keto diets: standard ketogenic, cyclical, targeted and the high-protein diets. The difference in them depends on the carb intake. The standard ketogenic diet is low carb, high fat and adequate protein is the most recommended.
Is the Keto Diet Safe?
Most critics of the Keto diet say that it is not safe because of the emphasis on consuming high fat content. This is guided by the misconception that fats are bad for you. On the contrary, healthy fats are actually very good for you.
With this diet, you get lots of fats from healthy sources like avocado, nuts, fish, butter, eggs, coconut oil, palm oil, seeds like chia and red meat.
How Does the Keto Diet Aid in Weight Loss?
So how does the keto diet really work and help your body lose excess pounds? When on a high carb diet, your body uses glucose from carbohydrates and sugars to fuel body activities. When on a ketogenic diet, you supply the body with minimal amounts of carbs and sugars.
With reduced sugar and carbs supply, the glucose levels in the body are depleted causing the body to look for alternative energy sources. The body therefore turns to stored fats for energy which is why the Keto diet leads to weight loss.
This condition where your body burns fats for energy other than carbs is called ketosis. When your body goes into ketosis, it produced ketones as the fuel source rather than depending on glucose. Ketones and glucose are the only two power sources that fuel the brain.
Benefits of Ketosis and the Keto diet
Besides just aiding in weight loss, putting the body in ketosis comes with other health benefits too. Here are some of them:
- Enhanced mental clarity
- Improved physical energy
- Steady blood sugar levels which makes it a good remedy for epilepsy and diabetes
- Improved and enhanced skin tones
- Lower cholesterol levels
- Hormone regulation especially in women

How Long Should You Follow a Diet?
When you start a diet, the goal is not to lose weight as quickly as possible and then stop. A diet should be a learning process for a healthy diet. The question then is: how long should you follow a diet?
In this article, we tell you how long you should follow a diet and when you should stop. That is necessary to know because many people have no idea. When it comes to diets, people mainly think of
- hunger
- willpower
- fatigue
We will therefore not only explain below how long you should follow a diet, but we will also discuss how you can continue your healthy diet after you have reached your ideal weight.
The weight that you should lose
The first thing you should know if you decide to follow a diet is how much weight you should lose. You can calculate this yourself with the BMI. For this, you only need your own weight and height and then you can determine your ideal target weight.

It is also important that you have this checked by a specialist or the doctor. These experts will guide you and help you find your ideal weight.
You should use your BMI as a recommendation and not become obsessed with it. Use it to create a healthy lifestyle and find your own well-being.
Once you start a diet, remember that you should not lose more than a pound a week. So forget all those wonderful diets. Instead, you need to lose weight slowly and constantly. That is the only way to prevent a kickback.
Instead of dieting, just learn to eat healthier
A diet is much more than just losing weight. It is also:
A diet is much more than just losing weight. It is also:
- learn to eat healthy
- sports
- value the benefits of weight loss
Mind you, we do not mean that you should continue to diet for the rest of your life. Once you have reached your ideal weight, you can relax a bit. You don't always have to be strict with yourself.
Yet that does not mean that you have to fall back on your old diet, because then your diet will ultimately prove to be meaningless. Try to find the golden mean, so that you can keep your weight and thereby spoil yourself now and then.
Exercise is good
If you start a new sport while following a diet, find a workout that suits you. Then you stay in shape and you escape the daily stress for a while. There are many sports that you can do. So choose one. This is great fun if it is an activity that you can do together with you:

- partner
- friends
- family
Do you already know how long you should follow a diet? As we have said, a diet does not have to have a definitive end. However, they do have a point where you must stop and that is usually when you have reached your ideal weight.
We are all different and that is why you can lose more weight one week than the next. If you lose less weight, it could be due to:
- whether your week is busy or relaxing
- hormonal changes
- many other factors
In any case, you should never start a strict diet if you want to lose a specific amount of weight per week. The important thing is that you remember to never stop trying to lose weight.
Once you follow a diet, it doesn't matter if you reach your goal a few weeks later. You should also not follow a too-strict diet whereby you may not, for example, do the following:
- consume different types of food
- eating out with your friends
- visiting family parties
Moreover, a strict diet will only discourage you and it will not give you the strength to continue. It may be effective in the first few weeks, but we don't recommend it. In the long term, it is not sustainable.

Obese
To calculate your BMI, divide your weight by your height in inches (squared), multiply by 703 and round to 1 decimal place. You can use several BMI calculators available on the internet. So if your weight is 225 pounds, and height is 6 feet, your BMI is 30.5. You would be borderline obese. Generally, BMI over 30 is considered obese. While borderline obsesity should not cause much concern, if you have other health issues--e.g. weak heart, or high blood pressure or elevated glucose level, you should definitely get into a weight reduction program. Ideal BMI level according to physians, BMI between 18.5-24.9 is considered normal. however, if you have other conditions (diabetes, hypertension etc., family history etc.) then you want to be closer to 18.5.
2. Trouble sleeping
3. Sleep apnea. This is a condition in which breathing is irregular and periodically stops during sleep.
4. Shortness of breath
5. Varicose veins
6. Skin problems caused by moisture that accumulates in the folds of your skin
7. Persistent pain in weaight bearing joints
8. Pregnancy
Here are some true and tried--and simple practices to reduce or eliminate obesity. As with any practice involving your body, you should consult your physician before trying out any regimen.
1. Modest diet- reduce your caloric content by 500-1,000 per day
2. Exercise- initially under the supervision of a trained professional
3. Weight reducing medicine with or without prescription (Orilstat is over the counter)
4. For extreme cases surgical procedeures are available--Gastroplasty or Larposcpic gastric banding. But these should be the last resort, after you have consulted with the physician AND after supervised treatement has failed. This includes exercise, diet, caloric measure, stress suppression and at least six month regimen.

Create A Healthier Lifestyle
The term "diets don't work" has become a major cliché in today's society. Countless diet books line the shelves of bookstores and numerous diet products are advertised via TV, The Internet, and magazines. Yet the majority of the U.S. still remains overweight. So how does one decipher what is good information and what is a gimmick? Well, you first need to recognize that you already know the basics of living a healthy lifestyle. You may not be an expert, but you can determine what healthy meals and workouts consists of.
Think of the average healthy person. Do they overeat or starve? Do they over exercise or never exercise? Of course not, these people are balanced. The foods they eat are not off the wall or crazy. For example, instead of eating take-out for lunch everyday, they cook their meals in advance to make sure only the freshest most wholesome ingredients are used. Instead of buying a piece of gym equipment or subscribing to a gym membership and sporadically working out, they consistently engage in moderate exercise.
Healthy people not only eat well and exercise often, they also have a healthy attitude towards both. They do not spend time obsessing over what they ate or how they worked out. These people understand that a healthy lifestyle enhances life, not consumes it. So with the New Year approaching make a life commitment to create lasting change and enjoy the benefits of optimum health. Here are a few ways to achieve just that.
1- Proclaim your goal - Getting someone else involved in your goals is a great way to keep yourself accountable. No one wants to tell a friend or colleague they plan to eat healthy, only for them to see you the next day scarfing down a piece of cake. Tell someone who you see often about your health goals. Ask them to check in on you from time to time if you wish. You can also solicit a partner so you can go food shopping, workout, and both become healthier together.
2- Write down your progress and goals - Becoming more fit is not something we can think about once a year and see results. When you are first starting out, write down your goals. Whether it is a specific weight, size, or striving for seven consecutive days of eating veggies, put it down on paper. Then each day chart your progress and see if you can identify any pitfalls you have encountered throughout your week. If there are any revisions you need to make towards your goal then you will have good records in order to make positive changes.
3- Set yourself up for success - Make attaining your goal as convenient as possible. For example, if you'd like to cut back on sweets, don't buy them when you go food shopping. Get rid of all the loose change and bills under five dollars when you are at work and prepare your meals in advance. Plan ahead if you know you are going out. In other words make decisions before hand and don't put yourself in tempting situations.
4- Do your homework - There are tons of health and fitness books out there, so choosing a program that works for you is not a simple decision. Whatever you choose make sure your eating is balanced, meaning you take in reasonable portion sizes of all the food groups. Also make sure the fitness workouts won't leave you in pain the first week. Once you've found a program you like don't be afraid to adjust it to fit your lifestyle. Just give enough time to see results before you do.
Remember you already know what is good for you and what is not. Creating a healthy lifestyle is more about being determined to stay on the right track, even when you are tempted to give up, than it is about knowing every aspect of nutrition and exercise. After researching and practicing, your knowledge will increase along with your drive to succeed. So at first use common sense regarding your health and have every choice you make move you closer to your goal.

Lose Weight Help - Start Living a Healthier Lifestyle Today
Obesity and being overweight can lead to a variety of health problems, and has been suggested by some in the medical profession to be the single biggest threat to Western human health in the years going forward.
As a result, a massive market has sprung up around lose weight help, where would-be slimmers gladly shell out for the next quick fix solution. Unfortunately, what many fail to appreciate when seeking lose weight help is the importance of making lifestyle changes - not just for losing weight in the short term, but also for maintaining a healthy weight and improving health generally.
For starters, you should make sure you engage in a decent level of frequent exercise. Government guidelines vary depending on where you live, but by and large, a good rule of thumb is that you should aim for an hour a day of moderately intensive exercise five times a week.
Why not walk to work instead of driving or taking the bus? There are plenty of ways to fit in exercise around your daily schedule, and by making it part of your routine, you can benefit tremendously from the positive health implications.
You should also take care to substitute unhealthy foods for more nutritious options, and make more sensible choices about the types and amounts of food you eat. But cutting out the small things, you quickly feel the benefits of your changed lifestyle, which can be reflected both in your weight loss and in your feelings and self esteem.
Many people crave the elusive snake-oil solution, and as a result they're an easy sell for scam artists pushing all kinds of worthless dietary products. While some products on the market do indeed deliver the kind of results promised in the commercials, leading a healthier lifestyle has advantages in both helping to keep your weight down and improving your general well being, reducing the likelihood of developing serious diseases and leaving you free to live a happier, longer life.
Imagine for a moment the many benefits that a healthier lifestyle would give to you. This should make it easier for you to take action and actively accept professional lose weight help [http://muscle-ebook.com/review/facts/tom-venuto--burn-the-fat-feed-the-muscle].
It is true that it's immensly difficult to stop a bad custom, no matter how obvious the negative impact on your life might be. Why not start exercising or changing your nutrition today? All the information you need to make that change is available at [http://muscle-ebook.com].
I wish you all the power and inspiration you need to make that change come true.

Can't Lose Weight? Maybe You're Committing One of the Common Weightloss Mistakes
So you are eating healthy, exercising and still not losing any weight. It's so demoralising doing the right things and not seeing any results but could you be falling into one of the common mistakes people make when trying to lose weight? Keep reading as I dissect the most common errors people make and then you can decide where you're going wrong. The main focus on this article is that you're doing the right thing wrong; changing your lifestyle and diet is massive. But fine tuning this to ensure success is a small change that shouldn't put off your weight loss ambitions. You've done the hard work now just adjust it to get your body burning away that fat!
Firstly let's have a look at diet. You are eating healthy, getting enough fruit and vegetables, you have reduced your sugar intake and are eating lots of healthy fats. But are you still keeping track of what you eat? Healthy fats still contain a fair amount of calories. One gram of fat contains approximately nine calories compared to four calories for one gram of protein and carbohydrates. So if you simply swap in fat for carbs but don't adjust the amount you eat you will be over doubling your calorie intake! But don't despair; firstly it is unlikely that you have swapped fat for carbs at the same weight you are probably just not checking the label well enough, and secondly fat will make you feel fuller - so there's no worries about remaining hungry.
Staying with diet; are you keeping track of what you drink? If you drink anything other than water you are consuming some amount of calories (or chemicals if you're drinking "Zero Calorie" drinks). Think about that coffee with milk and sugar, what about that fizzy drink with lunch, or that pint after work. All of these add up.
Do you eat out a lot? This is another very common mistake. Although there is a shift in behaviour from restaurants and they are becoming far more transparent about the contents of their food, particularly calorie content, there is still some degree of guess work involved in ordering from a menu. Next time you eat out check out the calories at home after (if they don't have them available while ordering) you'll be surprised!
Now exercise... There is one of three things you could be doing and they include; over doing it, under doing it, and doing it right! If you're doing it right, bravo. If you are under doing it then simply do more or eat less! The real and most common is over doing it. Doing too much exercise and not eating enough will result in you losing weight initially but as your body starts to break down lean muscle for fuel and store what you eat as fat, at some point you will stop losing weight (or at least it won't stay off). The best way to correct this is to monitor it more, be really honest, and only try to drop 500 calories from what your body needs per day.
So hopefully if you have been struggling to lose the weight you have now identified yourself a being in one of the brackets above and can now make the small changes needed to really kick your weight loss into gear. Personally, if you take anything away from this article it is don't give up just because it's not working straight away. You've done so much hard work changing your lifestyle and diet just persevere a little more and you'll soon start seeing results.

How to Lose Weight By Thinking Differently
Do you play mind games that prevent you from winning at losing weight? Are you always having a conversation with yourself that manages to sabotage your newest Monday efforts to lose weight? If so, chances are pretty good that you have a dialogue in your head that needs to change. If you're having the following self conversations, it's best to change your dialogue. Changing your self talk is a great first step when you feel you absolutely can't lose weight.
The clean plate game to lose weight
You know this game: eat it all up because some people are starving! If you eat up all the food when not hungry, you are not helping anyone that is starving! Or, you paid for it so you must eat it. At home, put less food on your plate. In a restaurant, ask for the people box prior to digging into the large plate of food. Acknowledge that while you still paid for it, you now have food for another meal so you doubled your value. This is a hard habit to break, but it can be done with practice. These portion control strategies are always going to help when one has trouble losing weight. The portion control automatically decreases your calorie consumption. It's such a simple concept that is often overlooked.
Skipping breakfast may slow weight loss
You think you will eat less overall calories by limiting what you consume in the morning. Many studies indicate that when people do this, they manage to consume more total calories in a given day. In other words, this eating strategy can backfire for some people. Other studies show that when people consume substantial calories in the morning, they use those calories to meet energy requirements more efficiently, and store less of that energy in fat cells. Eating the bulk of your calories at the tail end of the day is, therefore, theoretically less efficient for your body weight and overall energy levels.
I will add, however, that some studies also suggest that whether someone eats breakfast or not has no impact on weight status. With that said, skipping breakfast and lighter daytime eating can put you at some degree of nutritional risk. It is very difficult to meet overall nutritional requirements with almost no daytime food and just dinner. And, if your blood sugar takes a nose dive during the day, you are at risk for an eating binge.
Use caution with foods prepared elsewhere
Do you really know what is happening in the kitchen of your favorite restaurant and take-out place? I would venture to guess that this food has much more fat, calories, and sodium than you would find in your own kitchen. Try to limit relying on outside sources for your meals unless you are able to confirm with nutrition labels that it is a healthy option. When you do dine out, at least try to check the nutrition information out ahead of time. There are so many websites and apps available to the consumer to do some pre-planning for healthier options. HealthyDiningFinder is a site where you input your zip code and nearby dining options are noted.
Review menus in advance
While not all restaurants can make their nutrition information available, you can at least take a peek at the menu online. That way you can begin thinking about the better meal options in advance of stepping foot into the restaurant. This helps you avoid quick impulse decisions on your selections. Once with friends socializing at the restaurant, your planning strategies to pick healthy choices may fizzle. Having thought about what to order in advance will keep defensive dining tactics in play.
It's for "company" game
There are many variations to this one: there is also "It's for the kids." Do the M & Ms really need to be in a bowl for your grandchildren and shouting to you all the time? I have grandchildren too, but I would not have a candy bowl sitting out all the time. I certainly like the chocolate as well and I would not be able to stare it down. Get the treats for kids, grandchildren, and company, but keep a limited stock that is purchased just prior to their arrival. Or, hide it from yourself. Better yet, get a treat that does not pose a high temptation threat to you! The less you like that treat, the better you can resist it.
Willpower for weight loss
I don't feel that most people successful at long-term weight loss can use the concept of willpower. Over the long haul, they should instead think "smart" on eating strategies: keep a clean kitchen free of high temptation foods, keep small amounts or portion controlled foods that you conceptualize as treats, or if food is just too tempting to avoid once in your kitchen, just don't put it into your grocery cart in the first place. Willpower, in my opinion, is not a good long-term weight loss strategy.
Reflection for weight loss
Taking a step back to evaluate how you think about eating may be just the solution for trouble losing weight! By managing your thoughts along with your eating environment, you can start down the weight management road without tripping up too much. While summer is over, the holidays are right around the corner. Thinking differently could be just the torture-free weight loss fix you need when you think you can't lose weight. Anyone can lose weight with the proper tools. After you change your thinking, you are ready for any additional steps necessary to lose your weight.
